At Surf Sistas, we’re always on the look out to share stories of talented Women from the Surf Scene. Recently, we caught up with Bella Bunce, an emerging filmmaker who recently got back from a trip to Mexico.

Beth and Bella teamed up again at the beginning of this year, taking a road trip through a remote peninsula in Mexico, to bring us a new surf film: Unplugged. What a dream team!

With the far flung corners of Mexico known for being pretty off grid and hard to get to (and also dangerous), we were intrigued to here how they navigated the challenges of off-grid living, filmmaking and wavehunting. Bella tells us all about it below.

Yama follows Australian surfer and activist Lucy Small as she travels to Ghana to meet with a group of pioneering female surfers and skaters. Once a stronghold of the transatlantic slave trade and with a history of Atlantic aquatic surf culture that precedes colonial invasion, this is a story of a reclamation and joy.

Looks who’s back! Our favourite landlocked event of the year, the London Surf Film Festival, is returning with 4 nights of screenings, 2 cool venues, and a week long interval of salty pop up events.

Morgan Maassen is a talented being .. renowned photographer and also a pretty darn good filmmaker to boot. Motion, an edit of footage shot for a stellar list of clients; from Samsung, to Roxy to the National Geographic, will take you round the world and back on the surf trip of a life time .. don’t look back, just click play..

This little short from Huntingdon Foster brought a smile to our faces ..  happy Sunday folks, hope everyones having as good a day as this bunch ..

So fantastic to see that these guys raised the money to get this film made ..  we can’t wait to see it.  Wonder if it will be ready for this…
