Expect a rich mix of dips and longer open water swims, suitable for every ability. We’ll be taking hikes through the pine forests in search of secluded white sand coves, swimming from rocky inlets via ladders and swim platforms. Chasing sunrises and sunsets and exploring beautiful local towns and villages.
Nestled in the peaceful Menorcan Countryside with incredible views, our home for the retreat is a traditional finca, complete with pool and spacious en-suite bedrooms. Full of character, its the perfect place to unwind after a day spent swimming in the Med.

DAY 1 – SUNDAY
Welcome to Menorca!
Arrival on your Balearic home for the week and transfers to your island home, a beautiful finca nestled in the countryside between Santo Tomas and Es Migjorn Grand.
There will be time for you to settle in and explore your space, then we’ll enjoy welcome drinks and snacks by the pool, to get to know one another and talk through the retreat schedule.
In the afternoon we’ll head out to one of our favourite local beaches for our first swim, take it at your own pace, and shake off the days travel.
Back at the villa we will wind down in a restorative Yin class before a delicious home cooked meal.
DAY 2 – MONDAY
After breakfast at the villa we’ll hike to a secluded cove hidden in the pine forests of the South West of the island. We’ll take a relaxed pace but expect rough ground underfoot and views to die for. In fact you might want to start counting your ‘oh wow’ moments
After our swim and maybe some lizarding in the sun we’ll head back to our Villa for lunch and the afternoon is free to relax and drop in for a technique session at the pool.
In the evening, we will head to a local spot for a dip or swim as the sun goes down and then back to the Villa for dinner.
DAY 3 – TUESDAY
This morning we will be taking our lunch on the road and heading to the north west of the island for a different kind of swim spot; think rocky outcrops, ladders and swim platforms built by the locals.
We will take our lunch with us and wander through the historic Ciutadella as we then make our way to our second swim spot of the day, back amongst the pine forests and white sand coves.
Enjoy an early dinner back at the villa with a sunset Yoga Nidra to relax into the evening
DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY
Fired up by a morning Yoga class and delicious breakfast we are headed for the South East today and the bluest coves we have ever swum in!
We will enjoy a late lunch at the villa and the opportunity for another pool technique session to hone that efficient stroke.
We then have a special evening planned with a sunset swim and beach picnic at one of Menorca’s beautiful sunset spots.
DAY 5 – THURSDAY
Another yummy breakfast at the villa and then for the last full day of our retreat we have planned a full beach day with our swims wrapped around a relaxed lunch. There will be some walking and the opportunity for more of a hike for those that are keen.
We’re going to head for a local beachfront restaurant for our final evening together.
DAY 6 – FRIDAY
We will be up at dawn for a sunrise swim to maximise our final morning followed by a hearty brunch to set you up for your onward travel.
After brunch and farewells we have organised transfers to the airport or your onward accommodation.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR OPEN WATER SWIMS
Swimming in the sea or the ocean is a totally different experience to swimming in a swimming pool, and confidence in open water comes from time spent in it. Good technique is essential with anything so we’ll be working in the pool on improving your technique so that your stroke is more efficient and therefore less tiring when you swim. You will then have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice when we are swimming in the sea.
If you are new to any sport that involves open water swimming and your experience of swimming in the ocean or sea is limited then you will benefit greatly from this retreat.
Triathletes and experienced open water swimmers will benefit from the tuition on technique and experience and stamina built in the open water swims.
What you will gain from your open water swimming technique sessions:
- Improve swim technique, efficiency and stamina
- Gain and improve water confidence in open water
- Be calm in open water
- Feel more confident and experienced in open water whatever open water sports you do
- For surfers know that you can swim in to shore should your leash or board break
WHERE WE STAY
We’ve found a beautiful Menorcan finca, full of island character, and nestled in the countryside close to Santo Tomas. This secluded home, located on the edge of an environmentally protected valley, enjoys magnificent views across unspoiled open countryside towards the sea, and spectacular sunsets.
All of the guest rooms are bright and airy with ensuite bathrooms. Relax in one of the communal lounge or terrace spaces with a book or a glass of wine, or soak up the sun and the view by the pool.

If after booking you find that you are unable join us on the retreat for any reason please confirm this to us in writing and we will refund your spot according to the terms below:
Cancellation more than 49 days prior to the retreat – 20% of full retreat price is non-refundable
Cancellation 30-49 days prior to retreat – 50% of full retreat price is non-refundable.
Cancellation 21 – 30 days prior to retreat – 70% of full retreat price is non-refundable.
Cancellation within 20 days of retreat – Full retreat price is non-refundable.
If we are forced to cancel the retreat for any reason we will offer you the choice of a full refund, credit note or postponed dates, whichever is your preference.
We require that you take out your travel insurance at the same time as you pay your deposit to ensure you have the maximum coverage for any reason you may need to cancel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I am traveling solo is that ok?
Yes absolutely! You will find a friendly Swim Sistas crew and other solo travellers like yourself. You can either opt for the private occupancy room or choose a twin share and we will match you with a roomie.
How much walking is there?
Menorca is a walkers paradise so we have included quite a few walks in our itinerary. Some are quite short to reach the swim spot, others are optional as they are onward walks from our swim spots that you can choose to take or not, a couple are walks to access the swim spot. For these expect a 1.5-2km walk along tracks that can be uneven underfoot. Some of these descend from higher ground to coves beneath so they can be up or downhill in places. We will take a leisurely pace and don’t think the walks will be a challenge for anyone that enjoys the occasional stomp at home. Please do check in with us if you have any mobility issues and would like to talk this through further.
What should I pack?
Start with at least two swimsuits, a wetsuit is optional but advisable for maximum enjoyment, especially for the early morning and sunset swims, swimming goggles, a tow float, beach towel, small day rucksack, comfortable walking shoes, sun block, sun hat, sunglasses, insect repellant, some cosy comfy clothes for post-swim and Yoga sessions, waterproof, Covid-19 travel and travel insurance documents, Passport.
