Back for 2018 is our 3-day intensive White to Green Improver course in Llangennith on Wales’s stunning Gower Peninsula.
If you have already learnt to surf, are confidently standing up in the white water but find yourself in a bit of a rut and want to progress, then our White to Green 3-day intensive course in Wales is for you. Its a great opportunity to take your surfing to the next level in a relaxed fun and supportive environment with other like-minded girls.
Our Surf Sistas instructors, including UK pro Gwen Spurlock, are all experienced Surfing GB and ISA qualified coaches. They have compacted our 5 day White to Green course into an 3-day course specially for you, including plenty of water time, video analysis and theory sessions. We will adapt the course to the group to make sure we are working towards your personal surfing goals in the most effective way.
2018 DATES: 30 June – 2 July
LOCATION: Llangennith, Wales
PRICE: £189 per person
- 3 days of in water improver surf coaching with our Surf Sistas coaches
- Board and wetsuit rental if required.
- Video analysis
- Theory sessions
- A Surf Sistas goody bag to take home!
Each day your coaching will be with Surfing GB & ISA qualified Surf Sistas instructors in our girls only Surf Sistas Improver sessions – your tuition includes the rental of a surfboard and wetsuit if needed.
We will start with a chat with your coaches and an in-water session to see where you are at. Our tuition will be tailored to your ability and the goals you set with your coaches but could for example include refining pop-up technique, paddle technique, turtle rolling and/or duck diving, turning, trimming and stance, understanding conditions and wave selection, and building confidence.
The course runs from Saturday through to Monday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day. We try to keep this a bit flexible so that we can work with the tides & conditions and make sure we get the best waves possible each day.
Bring your own packed lunches or check out Eddy’s cafe by the beach.
We will also head to the local surf shop PJs during the course so if you have some questions about surfboards, maybe you are looking to buy your first board or change up the board you are riding. This is your chance to get the lowdown from some local surf legends alongside the advice from the Surf Sistas team .. no such thing as a silly question here!
With our group size limited to 10 per course you won’t get lost in the crowd, but be sure to reserve your spot early, don’t miss out!
There are some great accommodation options in Llangennith and the surrounding area from a campsite right by the beach to eclectic B&Bs & bunkhouses. Llangennith is a very small village though and popular in the summer so we recommend booking as early as you can.
Hillend Campsite – Right behind the dunes at the beach, you couldn’t ask for a better location! Good shower & camping facilities, a camp shop for basics and the Eddy’s cafe too!
Blas Gŵyr is a luxury Boutique B&B right in the heart of the village. Delicious breakfasts and a lovely place to lay your head after a hard days surf.
The Kings Head – Want to be close to the pub? Probably best to stay at the pub then! The Kings Head has some lovely modern rooms tucked away behind the car park and out of earshot of the pub. Another excellent breakfast.

Hardingsdown Bunkhouse – Live at Lower Hardingsdown Farm for the weekend in the bunkhouse, shared accommodation with a full equipped kitchen. Prices from £18 per person per night.
Western House B&B – A family run B&B in easy walking distance of the beach or the centre of the village. Lots of great feedback from Sistas that have stayed at this B&B.
